I’m Nigel, and with my wife Donna we relocated to Tealby in late 2021, having lived and worked in Manchester with busy careers. I joined the governing team in November 2022.
With my background in technology and business change programmes, school governance is something completely new to me, so I’m learning as I go. I’ve been fortunate that our two daughters (now all grown up) received a good education and feel strongly that is something all children should have, but until recently I never really considered the many challenges a school has in making that happen.
I will use my skills and experience to support and challenge the school team to deliver the best possible outcomes for the children that are taught there. I’m grateful for the ongoing support from the school team and look forward to working with the rest of the governing body to ensure we are effective in what we do.

Hi, I'm Beth, and I am privileged to have been elected as a parent governor here at Tealby School just before the end of 2022. I applied for this role because I wanted to have an impact on our childrens futures - so much is shaped in these early years that will be carried with them throughout their lives, often directly impacting on their life chances.  Having run my own businesses in the past, and also more recently worked in schools as both a TA and also on the data and reporting side, I hope that I can bring a breadth of experience to the role.
In the few months that I have been a part of this amazing team of people, I have been warmly welcomed by not only the other governors, but also by the staff and children at school.  It is more and more apparent that my first impressions of the school and everyone in it being so very special were well founded. There is an incredible amount to learn, but I'm delighted that I've been offered the opportunity to share the link governor role for SEND - an area of vital importance for an increasing number of children.

I was born in Boston in 1955 and attended Boston Grammar School from 1966-73 where I gained 9 O-levels and 3 A-levels. As a teenager, I represented Lincolnshire at Football and Athletics.

In terms of further education, I have a BA (Hons)in Modern English Studies from Middlesex University, a PGCE in English and Drama from Lancaster University and an Advanced Dip. Ed. in Special Educational Needs from Bishop Grosseteste University, Lincoln.

I taught at De Aston school, Market Rasen from 1977 – 1981 and 1984 – 2009 and at Louth Cordeaux School from 1982-1984. I finished my career at De Aston as Head of Drama and Professional Tutor.

I have lived in Tealby since 1987. I am a member of the Tealby Events Team, the Village Hall Committee and volunteer at the Tealby Village Shop. I also volunteer for the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust as a Wayside Warden and the Lincolnshire Access Volunteers, monitoring footpaths and bridleways from Caistor to Claxby.

I am also a writer.

My career has included communications and marketing leadership roles in healthcare and central government. Currently at the Department of Food, Environment and Rural Affairs (Defra), my role involves delivering national campaigns and advising senior stakeholders on communications issues. Central to my career has been leading and managing the performance of teams, providing board-level advisory work, and helping shape organisational strategy.

However it’s also at the heart of my community here in Tealby, where I feel motivated to make an impact and contribute to the local community. I enjoy working as part of a team and making a real difference. From an educational perspective, beyond academics I’m interested in outdoor learning, physical education, and exploring fundraising and commercial opportunities for the school. In my spare time you will mostly find me outside, being a Dad, walking the dog, going for a run or bike ride!

Judy has been a Trustee at Three Counties Academy Trust since  December 2023 when co-opted from the Stoke Prior Governing Body she also Chairs the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee. She maintains a role at Stoke Prior as Chair of Governors. Judy also serves as a Trustee at Accordia Academy Trust and Ashperton Primary Academy Trust.  She is  a Governor at St Weonards school Local Area Board and a Governor for Hereford College of Arts where she  sits on the Audit Committee. Judy also fulfills a role as Member at Hereford Marches Federation of Academies (HMFA).

Judy has extensive experience and responsibility for policy development and compliance as well as a broad background in all governance matters across a range of settings. Judy served 10 years as a Magistrate at Hereford Magistrates court, and was appointed as bench chair for the last 3 years of her service.  In January 2025 she was appointed as Treasurer for the National Association of Small Schools.

In her limited free time, Judy likes nothing better than working in her vegetable garden and baking. 

Judy joins the board at Tealby as an Associate Member of the Finance Committee, attending meetings virtually.
